Staffing Goals for 2012:


With the turn of the year, we are now turning our attention to tweaking what we have in place and hitting the throttle! Eye of the Vortex is looking to expand our writing staff and try to get our content ratcheted up. The only way to do that is by bringing more Talented Writers into the fold.

So what exactly am Eye of the Vortex looking for from a Writer?



The vision of an Eye of the Vortex Writer is:
  • Someone who writes.
  • An experts at what they enjoy.
  • Readily available to respond to any comments.
  • Active in The Vortex.

An EoV Writer will need to be a huge fan of the Hobby Gaming Industry. We focus on:

  • Collectible Card Games - Magic: the Gathering
  • Role-Playing Games
  • TableTop Boardgames
  • Video Games - NewsFLASH!
  • Movies & Anime
  • Comics & Manga
  • Books (Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror)
  • Geek Tech

Eye of the Vortex focuses on Previews, Reviews, News and Social Commentary.

What this industry needs is a strong voice and I want to find him (or her). Someone who is strong willed, has an opinion, and is looking forward to providing it. Someone who wants to ask questions about things simply to make you think and perhaps just to make a change.

Other Positions



We are looking for help in non-writing positions as well:

  • Illustrator General imagecrafters. These people will create the mind-blowing images that EoV is known for. Whether it is making an image for the site, chopping up an image for article illustration, or generating new images for any number of things, the Illustrators are an important part of Eye of the Vortex.
  • Editors This position is designed to lead the different genre coverage through the site. They will ensure that all articles that get to the Publisher are completely edited to the Editor-in-Chief's standards. No grammatical or contextual errors should ever reach the Publisher. The Publisher should be reading the article and clicking 'publish' or 'reject'. Poor articles should be filtered out completely while good articles that have errors are corrected.
