Today's game is a little strange. While I chased down the developer thinking that the game was something along the lines of Little Red Riding Hood, I later found out that there was no Red, however, Mr. Bree does indeed fall in along those lines... except that he is a pig!

Today I installed a new game called the Icarus Project. When I first saw the game, I really wanted to bypass it, as it just didn't look appealing. The game lucked out thought, as all the rest of the games on the page were pretty crappy looking as well. With a 'meh' moment, I decided to give it a try.

If you are anything like me, then you enjoy killing things. Now, I am not talking about real life things. I am talking strictly digital things. Back in the Olden' Days, we didn't have a crap load of Green sorceries that jumped us from the early game to the late game like today. We were forced to use Green as an acceleration, not explosion. However, we did use something else to ramp back then, and that option is still available today! Dare I say that you don't need a single Forest to Ramp into orbit in Standard?
With the release of the latest addition to the family, I thought now would be a good opportunity to take a step back and look at the Moxen Family. Being the standard of everything that Magic: the Gathering has stood for in the past and adamantly opposes today, the Mox is the greatest example of what everyone craves, yet no one has... instant power and a pretty little necklace.

Lord of Ultima is offering diamonds that you can win by participating in their 'A Baron at his Best' contest. You may have noticed that I was absent during the last month or so. Unfortunately, I didn't get to greet the new magazine layout with arms wide open. Drizzt has a new book? Are you kidding me?! Do I need to say anything more to get you interested in this article? Well, I have plenty to say, so step inside and take a look.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I proudly present to you what has caused all the smoke that has been coming from the side door that we purposefully did not tell you about. Not that we thought you'd peek inside and ruin everything, but in reality, we didn't want to trip over the fans as they milled about. You see, we were hard at work getting a newer and better looking Eye of the Vortex ready to go over the last month. Now, not only can you read the magazine at your convenience, but now you can link to certain pages, copy and paste from it - quoting us is cool, and check the magazine out without a big download (looking out for my fellow low speed internet guys). All in all, we are happy to be presenting you with our new version of the labor of love. ~ Eye of the Vortex - September 2009. Be sure to use the comments inside to let us know your thoughts, or send me a tweet!
We have been developing a little something on the side to let our readers represent Eye of the Vortex while out and about doing their daily activities. That something is a line of merchandise that you can purchase and wear to your local shops and tournaments. Take a moment to check out the shop and let us know what you think. Thanks for your continued support.
There is an anniversary rolling around this month that I have GOT to make a comment on. However, if you think I will give it away in the Site Hook... You would be mistaken. You need to click the button below to find out who it turning seven in August.
I, Magus - DragonLance Review
If you know anything about Dragonlance, then the title of the book gives away most of the importance of the new Wizards of the Coast book, Dragons of the Hourglass Mage. Raistlin Majere is the Hourglass Mage, the Master of the Past and Present. Given the name due to his cursed hourglass eyes, Raistlin has long been one of the most legendary characters in the Dragonlance Saga.
The new issue of Eye of the Vortex is ready for your reading pleasures. Big Thank You goes out to Wizards of the Coast for having two previews for us to provide to you this issue.
Today we received a 4.0 / 5.0 review by Jason Corley of DriveThruRpg.com for our June Issue of EoV. Thanks for the love Jason. I hope you will enjoy our July Issue, and I will crack the whip on the fellas to get you a little more... *grins at the whip gathering dust on the wall...*
The June Issue of Eye of the Vortex is a GO! Check out the magazine page to see whats new and what rocks! (or is depressing if you ask BRoss' opinion...)
I happy to announce that EoV will be beginning a new feature each month in our magazine called the EoV Gamer Classifieds. Just like your local newspaper, our magazine will aim towards helping our community sell stuff, get jobs, make announcements, etc. Be sure to check it out and for Heaven's Sake... Get invovled! The investment into a single ad is only $10.00. You can advertise almost anything relating to gaming (I've got my eye on you Mr. Porn guy... Don't try it.). We had our best readership month in May with over 1500 views of the magazine. This means that for a very low investment, you could have had 1500 people see your game and could have checked it out. Even if you don't have anything to sell, nor want to buy, you should check it out anyways because I have a small contest attached to it plus you can check out Jason's new EoV characters which are... dare I say... cute? Click the link below to find out more.
After reading Wizards website and getting the low-down on the new changes coming to Magic with the release of Magic 2010, I tried to reflect on how this would have affected me as a player while I was still doing the tournament thing... and I realized that this would make for a great discussion point. So let's hear what you have to say about these changes. Don't limit yourself to just tournament play thought. Let's hear how you think it will affect your casual play as wel;, as it appears that Wizards is trying to tickle your fancy new Mr. Casual Player...
Gaming. It is a term that we toss around in the behind the scenes world of EoV all the time. I began thinking more about it and decided that I wanted to get your opinions.
Wizards of the Coasts is holding a home coming tournament this weekend featuring a GP event and maybe more important: a foil, alternate art Chrome Mox!
